This privacy policy explains how I handle personal information on editantapp.com. I collect as little as possible, share with no one beyond what is technically required to run the site, and use no analytics, advertising, or tracking.

What this policy covers
This policy describes how I handle personal information on editantapp.com, my marketing and documentation site.
This policy does not cover the Editant plugin itself when installed on your own WordPress site. The plugin runs entirely on your server; I do not receive any data from it.
Information I collect
Server logs
My host (one.com Group A/S, based in Denmark) records standard web server information for every request: IP address, browser type and version, the URL requested, the referring URL, and the timestamp. This information is used to keep the site running and to investigate technical problems or abuse. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in operating a stable and secure service).
Launch notification signup
If you sign up to be notified when Editant Pro launches, I collect:
- The email address you provide.
- A confirmation status (pending, confirmed, unsubscribed) and the associated timestamps.
- A one-way hash of your IP address and browser user agent at the moment of signup. The raw IP and user agent are never stored; only the hashes, salted with a site-specific secret so they cannot be reversed or correlated with hashes from any other site. These hashes exist solely to detect abuse of the signup form (for example, the same browser submitting hundreds of addresses).
Signup uses double opt-in: after you submit your address, you receive a single email with a confirmation link, and your address is only added to the list once you click that link. If you do not click, no record is kept.
Every email I send from this list includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Clicking it stops future mail immediately. If you would like the record itself deleted rather than just marked unsubscribed, email info@multifarious.de.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR (consent).
I use this list for one purpose only: to send a small number of emails leading up to and at the moment of the Editant Pro launch. I do not use it for general marketing, newsletters, or any other communications. After the launch series is complete, the list is closed and the records deleted unless you have explicitly asked to stay on a future general announcements list.
The signup data is stored in my WordPress database on editantapp.com (hosted by one.com, Denmark). It is not shared with any email service provider, marketing platform, or other third party.
Email contact
If you email support@editantapp.com or info@multifarious.de, I receive your name (if supplied), email address, and the content of your message. I use this information solely to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures, where applicable) or Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries).
What I deliberately do not do
To be explicit about what is not happening on this site:
- No analytics, visitor counter, or behavioural tracking
- No advertising or marketing trackers
- No contact form (use the email address above)
- No social media embeds that load tracking scripts
- No content delivery networks that fingerprint visitors
- No public comments section
- No third-party email service provider for the launch notification list (no Mailchimp, ConvertKit, etc.)
I have no commercial interest in collecting more data than I need to run the site.
Cookies
This site does not set any tracking, analytics, advertising, or marketing cookies. I do not use a cookie consent banner because I do not set any cookies that require consent.
If you log in as an administrator, WordPress sets functional session cookies to keep you logged in. These do not apply to ordinary visitors.
Fonts
The IBM Plex font family used on this site is hosted on my own server. No requests are made to Google Fonts or other third-party font services when you visit my pages, so no data is transmitted to font providers.

Launch notification emails are sent via my host’s standard SMTP. They do not pass through any external email service provider.
I do not share your personal information with any third party other than the one above for the stated purpose. I do not sell or rent personal information.
International transfers
I currently do not transfer your personal information outside the European Economic Area. If this changes in the future (for example when I introduce a payment processor or other services), this policy will be updated with details of any non-EEA transfer and the safeguards in place.
How long I retain your data
- Launch notification signup: until you unsubscribe, until the launch communication series is complete (whichever comes first), or until you request deletion via email. Records marked “pending” (signup started but confirmation link never clicked) are deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Email correspondence: kept for as long as needed to resolve your enquiry and any reasonable follow-up, then deleted, unless legal retention requirements apply.
- Server logs: retained by my host according to their retention schedule, typically between 7 and 30 days.
- Anything else: I do not retain anything else, because I do not collect anything else.
Your rights under GDPR
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Right of access: ask me what information I hold about you and receive a copy.
- Right to rectification: ask me to correct information that is wrong.
- Right to erasure: ask me to delete your information (sometimes called the “right to be forgotten”).
- Right to restriction: ask me to stop processing your information in certain circumstances.
- Right to data portability: receive your information in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to object: object to my processing on the basis of legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time. For the launch notification list specifically, the easiest path is the unsubscribe link in any email I send.

How to complain
If you believe I have handled your personal information improperly, you can complain to the relevant data protection supervisory authority.
