Per-link access control

Editant Pro adds access controls to each review link, so you can restrict who can open it and for how long.

Setting the controls

In the editor sidebar, open the Access tab, find the link under Links, and expand Access control on the link you want to protect. The available controls are:

  • Password (at least 12 characters). The reviewer must enter it before they can view the draft.
  • IP allow-list: one IP address or CIDR range per line. Anyone whose address is not listed is blocked.
  • View once: the link works for the first visitor only.
  • Maximum views: block new sessions after a set number of views.
  • Absolute expiry (UTC): a hard cut-off date and time.

Click Save access settings when done. For security, a password you have set is never shown back to you.

What the reviewer sees

A password-protected link shows a Password required page; once the correct password is entered, the reviewer continues to the draft. A reviewer who is blocked by the IP allow-list, view-once, or a view limit sees a neutral This link is restricted message that gives no further detail.
