GDPR
Personal data erasure
Editant integrates with WordPress’s core privacy tools for GDPR erasure requests (the “right to be forgotten”).
Request flow
An admin goes to Tools → Erase Personal Data, enters the email, and creates a request, confirmed via email. The admin then runs the erasure.
What Editant does
- Anonymises the reviewer record (name and email replaced with anonymous markers)
- Anonymises author attribution on comments and decisions
- Preserves the comment thread and decision content for audit integrity
Why preservation matters
Editant exists to create a defensible audit trail of editorial review. Erasing the audit content entirely would defeat the purpose. The middle path – anonymising attribution while preserving the record – aligns with GDPR Article 17’s exceptions for archival and audit purposes.
