Reviewer identity capture

Editant supports three modes for reviewer identification, configurable per link. Free Core asks for at least a name; anonymous links are an Editant Pro feature.

The three modes

  • Anonymous (Editant Pro): reviewers comment without providing a name. Comments show as “Anonymous reviewer”. A session token still tracks the same reviewer across visits. Anonymous review links
  • Name only: reviewers enter any name before they can comment or record a decision.
  • Name and email: reviewers enter a name and a valid email address.

How it works

When a reviewer opens a link requiring identity, an identity form appears before the post content. Their answers are stored in a cookie scoped to that specific link, so they don’t have to re-identify on subsequent visits via the same link. Editant doesn’t validate the input externally; identity is recorded as the reviewer asserts it.
