Suggesting changes (tracked changes)
Suggestions let a reviewer propose an exact change to your wording, which you then accept or reject like tracked changes. Each suggestion is anchored to the passage it refers to.
How a reviewer suggests a change
On the review page, the reviewer selects some text and clicks the Suggest change button that appears. They type the replacement wording and click Send suggestion. Their suggestions are listed as Pending, and they can withdraw one while it is still pending.
Reviewing suggestions
Open the post in the block editor and expand the Suggestions section of the Editant sidebar. Each pending suggestion shows the original text and the proposed replacement. Save your draft first: Accept is disabled while there are unsaved changes.
- Accept applies the replacement to your content in place. The editor updates without a full page reload.
- Reject discards the suggestion with no change.
Pending suggestions are also drawn as tracked changes in the editor canvas. Click one to accept or reject it in place, with the sidebar open or closed. See Reviewing in the text.
When a suggestion no longer fits
If the text of a block has changed since the suggestion was made, Editant cannot apply it automatically and shows a short notice explaining why. Make the edit by hand, then use Mark as done to close the suggestion.
AI-drafted suggestions
Not every suggestion comes from a reviewer. Editant Pro’s AI review tools can draft a suggestion from a comment or an article-audit finding. These carry an AI draft badge, with a confidence figure and a line showing how the request was read, and you accept, reject, or mark them as done exactly like a reviewer’s suggestion. See Drafting an edit from a comment.
