What is Editant?
Editant is a content review, approval, and collaboration plugin for WordPress. It generates secure review links for posts, pages, and custom post types. Reviewers read, comment, and approve without a WordPress account. Everything runs on your own site; no data leaves your server.
The problem it solves
Editorial review usually happens in email and chat. A draft goes out as a screenshot or a staging URL. Comments come back in three different threads. Approvals are verbal. By the time the content is ready to publish, the audit trail is fragmented across half a dozen tools and no one is quite sure which version was actually signed off.
Editant centralises the review on the post itself. Reviewers get a single link, comments are threaded against the content they relate to, and approvals are recorded. Authors see everything in one place inside the WordPress admin.

Why self-hosted
Editant runs entirely on your WordPress installation. There is no SaaS account, no per-reviewer fee, and no third-party data processing for review activity. For agencies and compliance teams, that means no procurement of an external sub-processor, no data leaving the jurisdiction the site is hosted in, and full ownership of the review record.
AI features in the Pro tier are opt-in and use your own provider key. Editant does not proxy AI calls, meter credits, or send content to any service you have not configured.
What it doesn’t do
Editant focuses on external editorial review. It does not replace internal editorial workflow tools; those handle the in-team multi-step review where every participant has a WordPress login. Editant fills the gap for reviewers who don’t have one. The two pair well; neither replaces the other.
It also isn’t a design feedback tool. Click-anywhere-on-the-rendered-page comments are a different problem with different incumbents. Editant is about editorial review and sign-off, not visual design feedback.
